summer meetings in Bilbao and Milan
This summer of 2010 to be packed with calls for political communication scholars. addition to summer courses at the Complutense we mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we now add two events of great importance. First, the International Meeting of the Association for Communication Policy (ACOP) to be held in Bilbao from 17 to 19 June. Second, the International Summer School in Communication Political and Electoral Behavior , whose second edition will be held at the University of Milan from 5 to 9 July 2010.
The encounter of the ACOP in Bilbao arises as a face-off between researchers and practitioners to explore what they can learn from each other. Thus, the three-day conference will combine the presence of experts in political marketing presentations by researchers such as Robert Entman (George Washington University), Wolfgang Donsbach (Technische Universität, Dresden) or Philippe Maarek (University of Paris XII) among others. Political communication scholars have the opportunity to present their work to this excellent trio in the day on June 19. The deadline for proposals is March 30, 2010. The International Summer School in Milan academic is one hundred percent. In this case the dialogue will be between novice and veteran researchers. At lectures by renowned scholars will follow the presentations of the future promises of political communication research. Among the guest lecturers include Jay G. Blumler (University of Leeds), Paolo Mancini (University of Perugia), Barbara Pfetsch (Free University of Berlin), John Street (University of East Anglia), Gianpietro Mazzoleni (University of Milan), Claes de Vreese (University of Amsterdam) and Peter Dahlgren (Lund University).
